No matter how much technology we have, the human heart will work the same way. In 500 years, we still will need to reframe our life stories with humor, still will laugh together in the same way that predates language, still will find relief and restoration in laughing WITH each other and WITH life. Levity also eases the journey of massive change that the swift adoption of new technologies is bringing us. I desire to represent in this show that humor is human. This photo is of the Calling In Street Team, from a performance in Barcelona Spain in which participants call themselves on the phone and tell themselves everything they have been holding back. There is a gallery installation to sit and record what one wants to say and a street team that invites passersby to participate on the spot. In both cases, we reflect people back to themselves – literally and figuratively – as we all continue to grow and change aided by emerging technologies that also help us see ourselves in new ways. Featured performers are Rachel Santos and Barbara Ann Michaels.
