“Dream Journey Through Cloud-Capped Peaks: Lost in the Mist” is one of the 2009 series of works titled ‘Dream Wanderers’. The artwork presents two distinct visual realms: one embodies the schema of Chinese literati landscape painting, while the other features ‘dream wanderers’ rendered through Chinese calligraphic expressions within a Neo-Expressionist style. These dream wanderers, though situated within the soothing ambiance of scholarly landscape imagery, paradoxically manifest expressions of helplessness and feeble terror. Gathered in surreal configurations, they collectively suggest humanity’s inherent yearning for both the natural world and a spiritual homeland at the fundamental level.
