“I Am the Universe” from the book: Me and the Universe by Skyler Farasat of Skye+Fam Books Age: 12 “I Am the Universe” is a visual mantra of wholeness and wonder. This illustration is my way of showing that everything we are searching for — stars, strength, peace, love — already lives within us. In the image, a radiant child stands at the edge of the cosmos, glowing from the heart, surrounded by swirling galaxies, planets, and color. It’s a moment of remembering who we really are. This piece is from my book Me and the Universe, a book of positive affirmations or mantras for kids of all ages. The art represents the feeling of returning to our light — the truth that we are not small, or separate, or lost. We are the universe. When I ideated this as a 9 year old with my parents, I imagined what it feels like to stand in our power, completely connected, completely seen, completely enough. Every stroke here is a burst of energy, every color a feeling. The child is not stepping into the universe — she is realizing she is it. This art is my celebration of that awakening. It’s for anyone who needs to remember: the universe isn’t out there. It’s you.
