Tom A. Pilscheur, PhD is a seasoned entrepreneur, cultural bridge-builder, and philanthropist with over 35 years of experience across art, consulting, medical rehabilitation, technology transfer, and the circular economy. Based in Basel, he currently serves as Chairman and CEO of AAP AG, a consulting and business services firm supporting innovative and socially responsible ventures across Europe and Asia.
Holding a PhD in Sinology from Hamburg University, Tom is fluent in Chinese and Japanese—languages that reflect his deep commitment to intercultural understanding and global collaboration. His career spans the successful establishment, leadership, and exit of multiple companies in both China and Europe, including Sorehsa AG, a pioneering provider of active medical rehabilitation devices and education, and Mycrobez AG, a cutting-edge startup developing circular economy applications with mycelium-based technologies.
Beyond the business world, Tom is the founder of Guardians of Humanity, a non-profit foundation dedicated to defending justice, fairness, and human dignity in an increasingly complex world. A passionate advocate for Asian art and culture, he has curated and promoted numerous exhibitions and collections, fostering meaningful exchange between East and West.
