Future of Prosperity | Future of Humanity Report

6.1 Introduction

Redefining Prosperity for a Shared Future

For a long time, prosperity has been equated mostly with money, status and visible success. Yet many people still live from a place of lack, fear and exhaustion, while nature carries the hidden costs.

The contributions gathered in this chapter invite a wider definition of prosperity: one that includes health, meaningful work, community, inner alignment, nature and fairness. It questions who benefits from current systems, how value is created and shared and what kind of legacy we are building.

Core framing: The future of prosperity is not only about growing the pie. It is about how we share it, how we generate it, and how we stay in harmony with each other and with the planet while doing so.

6.2 Challenges

Fault Lines in How We Live and Share Prosperity

The challenges named in this chapter are organised into four lenses: mindsets & human psyche; information, knowledge & power; data, privacy & agency; and systems, structures & culture.

Prosperity reduced to money

Mindsets & narratives
Focus often sits on income, status and material luxury instead of purpose, passion, community and inner wealth.

Beliefs such as "wealth equals happiness" and a limited perspective of prosperity keep people chasing external symbols while neglecting health, relationships and meaning.

Culture of lack, fear and greed

Mindsets & culture
Many people come from a place of lack, fearing that there is not enough, while systems reward greed and accumulation.

"Wealth of fear", scarcity narratives and constant pressure fuel anxiety, hoarding of resources and resistance to change instead of generosity and collaboration.

Disconnection from inner compass

Mindsets & psyche
We often look too much on the outside rather than the inside and do not know what we really need or ask for.

Lack of connection, lack of alignment with something higher and low resonance with "cosmic energy" make it harder to choose values driven paths to prosperity.

Inequality and unfair distribution

Systems & distribution
Inequality, big gaps that keep growing and unclear "distribution definition" raise questions of who gets what and why.

Everyone does not get a fair share of their contribution. Power, ownership and opportunity are concentrated, while contributionism and equity remain aspirational.

Opaque monetization and low transparency

Systems, info & data
Monetization logics dominate many systems, while transparency to the public is limited or missing.

When "information is power" and flows of money, data and value are not visible, trust erodes and people feel excluded from decision making.

Status, comparison and social media pressure

Mindsets & culture
Luxury, status, conflict, jealousy and social media comparison shape what people think prosperity should look like.

Online trends with fast ways "to make money online" can reinforce shallow success stories and train people to value visibility over depth, care and contribution.

Weak social fabric and responsibility

Systems & culture
Community, responsibility and mutual care often sit in the background of individual ambition and survival mode.

Without shared responsibility for one another, prosperity becomes fragile and easily threatened by crises, fear and competition.

Prosperity at the cost of nature

Systems & planet
Prosperity is often imagined without nature, even though healthy food, water and safety depend on ecosystems that are under pressure.

Overconsumption, waste and natural disasters show how current models externalize environmental costs instead of making nature part of the journey.

Work that does not match talents

Systems & work
Many people do jobs that do not use their natural talents or passions, while unique problems remain unsolved.

The system is built around jobs, not around possibilities to offer unique talents to solve unique problems in ways that feel meaningful and regenerative.

Resistance to change and new models

Mindsets & systems
Will to change and "normalizing change" are still limited. Status quo thinking slows down transitions to new economic and social models.

Without courage to let go of outdated structures, inequalities that arise from the current situation will continue to grow.

6.3 Solutions

Pathways Toward Shared and Regenerative Prosperity

These solutions are organised into five pathways: mindsets & inner capacities; education, skills & literacy; community, culture & collaboration; design, technology & innovation; and systems, governance & infrastructure.

Rethink values and redefine prosperity

Mindsets & values
Move from narrow financial success toward prosperity that honours health, relationships, meaning, joy and enoughness.

Rethink values, place "why", ethics and legacy at the center and cultivate courage to be hungry and happy while staying in resonance with the universal flow.

Empathy, charity and shared care

Mindsets & community
Practice empathy, charity, sacrifice and healthy awareness so that prosperity is not only personal but shared.

When more people volunteer, support one another and think in terms of future legacy, prosperity becomes a relational field, not just a private goal.

Redistribute power and resources fairly

Systems & policy
Explore different distribution of power, equality policies and democratized resource allocation and decision making.

Basic income for all, minimum wage to live with decency and investment equity can ensure that everyone gets a fair share of their contribution.

From capitalism to contributionism

Systems & culture
Shift from profit only logics toward contribution based models where everyone can bring their unique talents to solve unique problems.

Models that empower people, free them from unnecessary work and focus on symbiosis, harmony, diversity and new objectives create prosperity that feels alive.

Everyone wins, not just the wealthy

Community & culture
Build value creators and catalysts that make sure prosperity uplifts whole communities, not only a few individuals.

Values based solutions, shared experiences like eating or sailing together and a spirit of Oneness for all create social glue and trust for long term flourishing.

Educate for talents, ethics and collaboration

Education & community
Encourage children at school to explore their natural talents rather than conform, and teach ethics that assume good intentions by default.

Acceptance, education, embracing diversity and normalizing change reduce friction and open space for collaboration, innovation and care.

Circular economy and regeneration

Design & planet
Move toward circle economy and inclusion with principles of create, use, regenerate, generate and access for all.

Reducing waste, integrating nature into prosperity models and designing systems that are resilient to natural disasters help align wealth with planetary health.

Access to knowledge, tech and opportunity

Design & access
Ensure accessibility to education, information, healthcare, food and technology worldwide, not only to a privileged few.

Access to knowledge and wisdom (not just information), commodification of tech in a positive sense, and training for man machine collaboration can unlock development for the masses.

Inclusive financial innovation

Design & finance
Explore crypto as currency for everyone, new ways to earn money online and open access to enterprises for the masses.

Funding and embracing innovation, combined with fair rules, can turn financial tools into bridges rather than barriers.

Free time and meaningful contribution

Systems & inner
Create models that free people from meaningless work, save time and focus on unique talents and meaningful contribution.

Adjustments in the system, merit that looks at symbiosis, harmony and diversity and an intent to serve humanity help prosperity feel like a living, evolving field rather than a rigid target.

6.4 Path Forward

Prosperity in Service of Life, Dignity and Oneness

The future of prosperity will be shaped less by abstract growth curves and more by the intent to serve humanity, to democratize access and to honour our interdependence with one another and with the Earth.

A regenerative prosperity is one where systems are designed to:

  • ensure that everyone wins, not just the wealthy,
  • see people as value creators, not only as consumers or workers,
  • give access to knowledge, tools and basic security for all,
  • embed circular and inclusive principles into every decision,
  • and stay in resonance with the universal flow of life.

This chapter suggests that we do not only need new instruments and policies. We also need a new story of prosperity: one where courage, empathy, creativity and shared responsibility are as important as money and growth, and where prosperity is felt in healthy food, good friends, vibrant communities and a thriving planet.

The next era of prosperity will not be defined only by how much we have, but by how we share, how we regenerate and how we relate as one human family on a living planet.
