John Rainford FRSA FTLS is an innovation practitioner, business strategist, and creativity mentor dedicated to transforming the role of imagination in health, education, and wellbeing. He believes that everyone is born a creative artist, and has spent his life challenging societal systems that undervalue creativity’s essential role in human flourishing.

Rainford has led workshops around the world for scientists, students, and leaders, helping participants reconnect with their inner wisdom and invigorate their creative instincts. His influence spans from mentoring individual leaders to shaping long-term strategic plans for startups and Fortune 100 companies, contributing to the development of new patents, innovative business models, and visionary 20- to 50-year plans that have positioned organizations as world leaders.

Although he has taught at some of the world’s most respected universities on entrepreneurship and technological innovation, Rainford identifies as a “non-academic” whose primary pursuit is “seeking the right questions” rather than settling for easy answers. His practice is rooted in the idea that imagination is not a luxury but a necessity—one that fuels both personal growth and systemic transformation.

Currently collaborating with parts of the United Nations, Rainford is helping to design global initiatives focused on improving health, education, and wellbeing. His newest ventures explore the potential of quantum technologies to inspire entrepreneurial insights and foster innovations that serve humanity’s highest needs.

Throughout all his work, John Rainford remains passionately committed to advancing creativity as a foundational force in building vibrant, resilient societies. His vision is clear: a future where health, education, and wellbeing are deeply enriched by the power of imagination—and where creativity is recognized not as an exception, but as the cornerstone of human progress. To create and see empathy as a gift we all possess - to activate our spiritual awareness. To help young people realise their gift and as Picasso has said and 'Give it away' - To me to rekindle creativity in everyone is a life long quest. My students and scientist vase to complain that after my workshops - they couldn't sleep - because their sense of creative values had been reactivated, Unfortunately our greatest assets can be squashed by our education system. the great thing about creativity is that it has practical applications. One of my students went back to India and showed students in remote villages how to realise their own dreams using Art as a catalyst. I am on a mission to create a world where peace is a preferred choice - thats why the UN likes my work.
