Oceana Rain Stuart is a multi–award-winning sculptor, poet, and author whose work melds figurative realism, symbolism, and subtle surrealism. Best known for her evocative bronze sculptures, Stuart captures movement, sensuality, and profound reverence for the human form, exploring cycles of life and the raw essence of human experience.

Raised in California’s countryside, she developed an early sensitivity to nature’s interconnectedness with the human condition. Elemental forces of earth and ocean pulse through her works, where anatomical precision coexists with abstract foundations to express transformation, memory, and resilience. Intimate gestures—a fingertip’s touch or a lover’s embrace—often appear alongside skulls and cyclical motifs, reflecting her ongoing inquiry into intimacy, impermanence, and the circle of life.

Primarily self-taught in sculpture and poetry, Stuart honed her craft at California College of the Arts on a full merit scholarship, studying fine art and fashion design. Her multidisciplinary background enriches her artistic language with emotional depth and mythological resonance.

Stuart’s work has been exhibited at leading institutions worldwide, including the Louvre Museum (France), Leonardo da Vinci Society (CA), Natural History Museum (CA), Butler Institute (VA), Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art (WI), National Sculpture Society (NY), Haggin Museum (CA), Portrait Society of America (FL), Salmagundi Club (NY), and the National Arts Club (NY).

A pioneer in art archiving, Stuart is among the first female artists to have work preserved on the Moon: twenty-three of her sculptures exist as digital nanofiche in the Lunar Codex, and her work is included in the LifeShip initiative. Featured in the Australian documentary The Art Side of the Moon, her sculptures appear in publications such as Fine Art Connoisseur, Beautiful Bizarre, and Escultura (Museum of Modern Art Barcelona).

Her book Enigma (Snap Collective) weaves together artwork, memoir, and poetry, offering an intimate reflection on her creative journey. Stuart is an elected member of the National Sculpture Society, Emeritus Board Member for American Women Artists and the American Artists Professional League, and regularly teaches workshops, curates exhibitions, and lectures on sculpture and creative practice.
