Sarah Hodsdon is an internationally recognized mixed media artist, award-winning designer, inventor, author, and educator whose work spans the intersections of fine art, traditional craftsmanship, emerging technologies, and public engagement. Her creative journey has led to extraordinary achievements, including having her work placed aboard the LifeShip Pyramid on the lunar surface.

Over the course of her multifaceted career, Hodsdon’s art has been featured in leading publications such as MAKE, CRAFT, Somerset Studio, The Rubber Stamper, Scrap & Stamp Arts, The Card Maker, RubberStampMadness, Home Companion, ReadyMade, Expression Arts, and Creative TECHniques, among many others. Her handmade creations have traveled across the globe, with fine art pieces now held in private collections, businesses, and galleries. Her designs extend beyond traditional canvases, appearing on fabric, home decor, children’s illustrations, and even tattoos.

Hodsdon’s professional collaborations are equally diverse. She has worked with over 60 manufacturers in the arts and crafting industry and contributed to more than 40 publications. Her partnerships with major brands such as BIC, Dremel, Tandy Leather, Provo Craft (Cricut and Yudu), Xyron (Creatopia), Fiskars, Mrs. Butterworth’s, and Golden Paints span roles including licensing and design, product concept development, media consulting, illustration, scripting, and kit design for both children and adults. She is a recognized voice in traditional media (books, magazines) and a pioneer in emerging digital formats (e-books, blogs, apps, virtual worlds).

Hodsdon’s accolades include the Craft and Hobby Association’s Best in Show Award for Licensing and Design, multiple Golden Press Kit Awards, and numerous Editor’s Choice and Maker of Merit honors from Maker Faire events across San Mateo, Detroit, and New York between 2010 and 2017.

A passionate advocate for the power of making and creativity, Hodsdon has been a highlight speaker on movements such as Hackschooling, YoungMakers, and the revival of craftsmanship in education. As a robotics mentor, public speaker, and champion of interdisciplinary innovation, she continues to inspire new generations to blend art, science, and storytelling in transformative ways.
