William T. Ayton is a visionary artist whose work spans figurative painting, AI image generation, and cutting-edge AR and VR installations, all aimed at exploring creative boundaries and envisioning a brighter future for humanity. With decades of experience as an artist, Ayton’s practice integrates expressionist, surrealist, symbolist, and socio-political themes, reflecting his commitment to both artistic innovation and social justice.

Ayton’s work has been published in The New York Times, MIT Press, and Cambridge University Press, and exhibited globally in galleries, museums, and digital platforms. His notable projects include “Constellation XR” (Ars Electronica, 2023), “New Babel”, an 18-story AR installation in NYC’s Union Square Park, and the award-winning “New World City”, an AR artwork featured in Leonardo. Ayton’s impactful human rights exhibit “UDHR” toured nine cities across Europe and North America, even reaching the UN in Geneva and NYC.

A collaborator and educator, Ayton has been the Meteor Studio Artist-in-Residence at Arizona State University (ASU) since 2019, where he teaches experimental art, AR, and VR, inspiring the next generation of artists. Originally from Northern England and educated at Edinburgh College of Art, Ayton has lived in Madrid, Paris, New York, and Phoenix, enriching his artistic perspective with diverse cultural influences.
