Future of Humanity Art Walk at Davos
Eduardo Kac is a globally celebrated artist and poet whose innovative career spans groundbreaking works in poetry, performance, bio art, space art, and beyond. In the early 1980s, Kac pioneered digital, holographic, and online art, foreseeing today’s global culture of constant flux and information exchange. In 1997, he coined the term “Bio Art”, defining a new genre of artistic expression with revolutionary works like GFP Bunny (2000), a transgenic rabbit, and Natural History of the Enigma (2009), which earned him the prestigious Golden Nica award.
Kac’s work transcends Earthly boundaries. In 2017, his Inner Telescope, conceived for and realized in outer space, marked a historic collaboration with astronaut Thomas Pesquet. More recently, his piece Ágora was launched to deep space aboard the Centaur rocket in 2024 and is now in perpetual heliocentric orbit. In 2025, his artwork Adsum will reach the Moon.
With exhibitions at major institutions such as the New Museum (New York), Pompidou Center (Paris), and Mori Art Museum (Tokyo), and in biennials such as the Venice Biennale and the Bienal de São Paulo, Kac’s influence spans continents and disciplines. His work is housed in prestigious collections, including MoMA (New York), Tate Modern (London), and Reina Sofia Museum (Madrid), cementing his legacy as a visionary artist of unparalleled scope.
