Future of Humanity Art Walk at Davos
Emma Scarafiotti, born in 1996, is a mixed media artist whose work spans art film, photography, and performance, creating narratives that bridge documentary and speculative fiction. Initially trained as a photographer and performer, she found her most complete form of expression in audiovisual art. Emma holds a degree in Design & Art Direction from the London College of Communication and a Master’s degree in New Technologies for the Visual Arts.
Her work investigates new-coming bodies and the intersections between species, blending human tradition, ritual activities, and speculative futuristic narratives. Using a combination of analog tools and advanced technologies, Emma crafts layered stories that merge a scientific documentary approach with theatrical fiction. Her subjects often represent marginalized individuals, offering profound insights into the human condition and societal dynamics.
Emma’s works have been exhibited internationally, including at Careof Milano, REA Fair, and ENNOVA Museum (Langfang, China), as well as festivals such as Cinedans (Amsterdam), Toronto Experimental Dance and Music Festival, and New York AVAF 2024. Her ability to seamlessly blend experimental video, performance, and photography positions her as a boundary-pushing voice in contemporary art. Learn more here.
"I envision a future where all species coexist in harmony and balance. Through technology, I believe we can address the fragile condition of our planet in the wake of climate change and enhance our connection with the natural world. Technology will allow us to interact more deeply with nature, fostering exchange and understanding while paving the way for a sustainable and interconnected future."
