Future of Humanity Art Walk at Davos
Lisa Boothman-Carballo is a vibrant and passionate artist from the twin-island nation of Trinidad and Tobago, whose work embodies the rich Afro-Caribbean cultural heritage of her homeland. Coming from a lineage of celebrated artistry as the niece of the late Boscoe and Geoffrey Holder, Lisa’s artistic journey began as a model and muse, often posing in beautifully adorned fabrics that mirrored the Caribbean’s colorful essence.
Over the years, Lisa has channeled her creativity into teaching art to children, instilling a love for cultural expression in the next generation. Her commitment to art flourished into a full-time passion, culminating in her debut solo exhibition at the Art Society of Trinidad and Tobago in December 2017. Her work is distinguished by its vibrant colors, dynamic forms, and deep celebration of Afro-Caribbean women, who she portrays with strength, grace, and beauty.
Lisa’s art draws inspiration from everyday life in the Caribbean, its rich cultural traditions, and the natural vibrancy of its landscapes. Her pieces serve as visual narratives that celebrate the resilience and identity of Afro-Caribbean women, while also honoring the history and diversity of her home country. Learn more here.
