Future of Humanity Art Walk at Davos
Sasha Stiles is a pioneering Kalmyk-American poet, language artist, and AI researcher whose work operates at the intersection of text, technology, and consciousness. Known for her groundbreaking experiments in generative literature and blockchain poetics, Stiles refracts heritage and tradition through disruptive explorations of creativity and the human condition in a machine age.
Since 2018, Stiles has been collaborating with artificial intelligence to redefine the boundaries of poetry and art. Her hybrid poetry collection, Technelegy (2021), co-authored with an AI-powered text generator and praised by futurist Ray Kurzweil, reimagines poetry as a technology that encodes human experience across time and space. Award-winning projects such as “Cursive Binary” and “Repetae” further explore AI’s role in reshaping creative expression.
Stiles’ work has been recognized by leading organizations, including the Prix Ars Electronica, Lumen Prize, and Sigg Art Prize, and featured by MoMA, Artforum, and Christie’s. Her creations have been presented at Art Basel, Art Dubai, Lincoln Center, and even on the billboards of Tokyo’s Shibuya Crossing. As co-founder of theVERSEverse, an experimental literary collective, Stiles continues to situate AI as part of the broader continuum of linguistic innovation that challenges and redefines what it means to be human.
Sasha Stiles’ art piece, “We Are Computers First,” was featured at the EqualVoice Summit 2024 on the topic of “The Gender Visibility Gap in Media and AI.” A collaboration with EqualVoice, the piece embodies the initiative’s mission of increasing the visibility of women in media and addressing the gender visibility gap, a critical issue impacting public discourse and societal perceptions.Learn more here and here.
"A future where every voice, regardless of gender, is heard, valued, and empowered. I envision a media landscape that reflects the true diversity of our societies, telling stories that amplify the contributions of women alongside men in shaping a more inclusive, balanced, and equitable world."
