As 2023 drew to a close, I found myself back in my apartment after weeks of traveling and exploring. And I absolutely loved it! There’s something exhilarating about being on the move, sleeping on planes, waking up in remote locations, and embracing the new. My stay in Fiji was an absolute blessing, and I eagerly anticipate returning this year.

Yet, upon arriving home, I found myself pausing to observe and reflect on the past months. It’s been a mix of shocking human experiences and pure delight, all encapsulating the diverse spectrum of life that unfolds, sometimes or more than often beyond our control.

Sitting and pondering life and business, I realized how noisy our world is.

Have you noticed it too?

The challenge of choosing from a sea of options and possibilities can be overwhelming. A long and insightful self-discussion led me to realize that the transition to the new year won’t automatically change this. It’s really up to us to decide how we spend our time. It sounds straightforward, but altering habits around how and with whom we spend time can feel as complex as rocket science, especially when habit change is seldom easy.

Another realization struck me as I prepare to head to Davos for various initiatives during the Davos week and the World Economic Forum. It’s going to be another week filled with conversations and talking 😂. Don’t get me wrong, I love verbal expression, but I sometimes wonder if, instead of just talking, we could pivot to active co-creation.

Truly and genuinely. Co-creation.

I pride myself on being an attentive listener, but even I find my mind wandering after hours of listening to speeches at conferences, daydreaming or thinking about more relevant matters. This is precisely why participants of my co-creation workshops do more than talk, and the results are always astonishing.

So, co-creation is my focus word for the year. I wish for us all to make this year one of co-creation, changing the way we engage in conversations. Here are a few conversation starters for interacting with strangers at conferences or with acquaintances:

  • What do you need the most right now, and how can I help you/ collaborate with you?
  • What’s the most exciting project or idea you’re currently working on, and why?
  • What’s the most unexpected thing you’ve learned here so far?
  • What challenges are you currently facing in your work or industry, and how can I assist you?
  • If you could collaborate with any expert or professional in your field, who would it be, and why?
  • Are there any technologies or innovations that you think are game-changers in your field?
  • What’s a piece of advice you’ve received that has significantly impacted your career or life?

It seems I’ll be roaming around Davos, engaging in meaningful dialogues. Are you also joining? PM me, so we can connect there!

I’m thrilled to see initiatives like the Climate Hub Davos leading the co-creation movement during the World Economic Forum. Thank you, Nicole Keller from GreenUp Switzerland and Renée LaPlante from Decarbonista for making this happen.

I’ve established several media partnerships for the Davos week. If you’re interested in being featured across my diverse media channels and accessing an international audience, please reach out. This is a unique opportunity to showcase your organization and initiatives and connect with a global network. I’m looking forward to potentially collaborating with you!

Cheers, and see you in Davos!
